Purple Rain Vineyard has been WSDA Certified Organic CSA, (Community Supported Agriculture) since 2007.  With membership you receive a weekly basket of fresh, mouth-watering and nutritious produce.  Furthermore, you help secure food safety, production, and support small-scale agriculture.

It’s better for your health:  A diet rich in fresh organic vegetables and fruits has been documented to be the best choice for a long, healthy lifestyle. Your membership is an investment in your health, and a discovery of amazing new tastes, new varieties and new methods of preparing your meals.

It’s better for the environment:  Buying local and organic sustainable food helps reduce your carbon footprint.  At its roots, organic sustainable farming benefits the local community and local economy while supporting the environment. It enriches the soil, protects air and water quality, and minimizes energy consumption.

It’s better for our community:  Communities reap more economic benefits from the presence of small farms than they do from large ones. Studies have shown that small farms re-invest more money into local economies by purchasing feed, seed and other materials from local businesses.

Secure Food Safety:  Studies show that sustainable agricultural practices can actually increase food production by up to 79%, while at the same time actively reducing the effects of farming on climate change through carbon sequestration.

We grow a diversity of vegetables and herbs, including leafy greens. We will introduce you to an array of Asian, Mustard and European varieties, for you to experience and enjoy.  Whether you are a novice or a seasoned CSA member, we have ample recipes for you to try on our website.

To enhance your knowledge of new vegetable varieties, we offer a weekly recipe accompanied by a description of the featured vegetable or herb.  A complete produce description list is available for vegetables and herbs.

Healthy soil means healthy, nutritious food. The richness of our soil is achieved by our predominantly manual farming practices and continual applications of compost, crop rotation and other organic methods.  Food tastes better and is far more nutritious when grown in a well balanced soil.

Our CSA Program offers three garden share sizes (small, medium and large), as well as eggs and herb shares. Single purchases of small fruit varieties, herb bouquets, and eggs will be available during the CSA season. We offer you the option of excluding six vegetable varieties from your crop list during the registration process. Shares are packaged in non-compostable, biodegradable bags refrigerator-ready; and for your convenience we have 10 pickup locations.
